Hi, I’m Will. I love anything outdoors and making people laugh (with me or at me, I’m not too bothered which). I’ll mainly be in charge of the photos and videos that you’ll see throughout the articles on our website and Instagram as well as some of the smaller updates on our blog page.
And this is Charis (the disappointing taste in chocolate tells you all you need to know) … she’s an insane planner, has knees made of glass and hates vegetables. Fortunately for you readers, she has a way with words and likes telling people what to do… For these reasons, she will be writing the majority of the longer articles on this website which will share our adventures with you guys and provide detailed accounts on how we plan for our trips on a student’s budget.
We are both engineering students from the University of Nottingham. Like most students, we’re broke and love to tell people about it. We’re creating this blog together to try and put that moaning to good use!
The two of us love travelling! It’s 100% our favourite thing to do. So much so that , we have planned to travel together for a whole year once we have finished our degrees. We’re well aware that we will probably hate each other by the end (I’m kidding) so we thought this blog would be a great way of documenting our travels and to look back on what will be a very memorable trip.
We also want to provide information to other students like us which will allow them to also do the thing we love. Travelling can be done cheap when budgeted for properly (blame Charis if it’s too expensive! I tell her what crazy things I want to see and she tries to make it work).
The blog is also a great tool for our families to catch up on what we have been up to (saves me money on sending them postcards) if we struggle to contact them.
Throughout our travels, we will provide posts and articles about what we did and how we did it, in a way that will be financially viable to students like us. This will include articles on our top free things to do in the countries we visit and how you should spend the money you have. Boring but essential topics, like how to budget a trip, will be discussed (obviously Charis’ section) and should help us explain our thinking behind travelling on a budget. Obviously, this blog will contain a large serving of our opinion, but we will try to back this up with comparisons to standard holiday prices we find online.
I hope you enjoy the content and we will try to keep it as light-hearted and informative as possible.
Will
