First day we arrived in Copenhagen and checked into our Airbnb! Had a good flight and enjoyed the very efficient Danish public transport on our way here. We were looking forward to exploring the city on our next day and had our fingers crossed the rain holds off!
There was a slightly slow start to our second day in Copenhagen day due to some technical issues (Charis likes sleep). After leaving the Airbnb at 10:30, we took the train into central Copenhagen and started by exploring the Botanical Gardens and making some new winged friends. We visited some iconic city landmarks and ended the day with a cinnamon pastry and standing outside a church that we never even went in because of the queue (we’re going to go back tomorrow bright and early to avoid the same mistake!).
Started our third day by scaling the Church of Our Saviour tower (Charis just clung onto the railing whilst I enjoyed the view!). We took a canal tour through the waterways of the city and saw a ski slope that is also the roof of the country’s incinerator (Mental!).
We also dropped in at the Ripley’s Believe it or Not! and Guinness World Records museums where Charis’ weight problem was finally brought out into the open (it was probably all the candyfloss at the Tivoli Gardens…).
Our final day in Copenhagen was another slow start due to being out till midnight the night before. We decided to see the city lights at night and the Tivoli Gardens delivered!
First activity this morning was a walk around the zoo where we tried to blend in with the locals. The Rosenborg Castle in the centre was our next stop where we learnt about the royal family and national history. Our final stop of the day was a quick look around the National Gallery of Denmark, before heading to the airport where Charis had a bit of a ‘mare!
